Post:                   Eday Shop Community Hub Manager

Location:            Eday, Orkney

Contract:            Fixed Term 1 year

Salary   £14,500 pa circa 22 hours per week

Eday Community Enterprises is seeking an experienced and motivated person to fulfil the role of Eday Shop Community Hub Manager for an initial fixed term period of 1 year with the intention to extend this period if possible.

The role will focus on enhancing the shop as a community hub through developing the community space and organising events at the Shop. The role will also involve management and promotional duties for the Shop where the postholder will work closely with the shop supervisor and her team.

Retail experience, good literacy, numeracy and communication skills are essential plus a full clean driving licence would be beneficial in order to fulfil the duties of the post.

The Eday Shop provides a lifeline service for Eday's community of around 120, providing a wide range of ambient, chilled and frozen food, hardware, homeware and fuel. There is a cafe where community events are held - this space is being expanded and the post-holder will play a role in developing the shop's role as a community hub.
